Where to begin…
For those of you who do not know, Halle is my miracle baby. She is my first daughter, my second child. When I was 11 weeks pregnant with Halle, I suffered a terrible headache and uncontrollable vomiting. I wasn’t sure what was wrong with me, but I knew that it was something more than just a regular headache. I won’t go into every detail, but shortly after I went to the ER I was admitted into the Intensive Care Unit with a sagital sinus thrombosis (blood clot in my brain.) Most of you know that blood clots can be very scary, and the type I had could have resulted in stroke or death even. My doctors were amazed that I survived this. I remember each doctor (I had a team) coming into my hospital room and just staring at me in awe, and saying that I was the luckiest person in the world.
With this big scare, I had decided that this would have to be the last time I would have a baby (Lyla was a surprise ;) I’ll save that for her birthday post.) I guess I am getting ahead of myself. As a little girl, I always knew that I wanted to have both a boy and girl. I already had my boy and would have loved having another son, but I REALLY wanted to have a girl. I knew that I wanted a little princess to dress up, take to ballet, have girl talks with, to have a daughter. We even chose girl names with the stipulation that the name HAD to sound good with the title “Princess.”
At 19 weeks into my pregnancy I found out that my dreams of having a little girl were a reality. :) My pregnancy felt long, and it was hard. I ended up having her 5 weeks premature. Thankfully she didn’t have to stay in the NICU but for a few hours. She was 5lbs 8oz of perfection.
So how is Halle my miracle baby? She reminds me everyday to be thankful for the life I have, that God works in mysterious ways, and miracles do happen. :)
Happy 2nd Birthday Princess Halle! Love, Mommy
