  1. Enchanted Photography Session: Eden Garden’s State Park

Eden Garden's State Park - Santa Rosa Beach. Florida

This session is so awesome that I have to break it up into 2 posts! You can see Part II here!  This session was for a photographer by the name of Heather Bookout and her beautiful family. When she first contacted me she knew she wanted to have her session split at Eden and at the Beach. I love both places so of course I did a little happy dance at the thought of both locations. We met in the parking lot at Eden Garden’s State Park. I was floored at how gorgeous her girls are and how incredible they all looked. I mean look at their hair and those dresses?! Talk about dreamy! We explored Eden and it’s beautiful scenery and light. I took the oldest daughter over in a giant pocket of light and admired her beautiful doe eyes. I watched the girls play with their father and love on their mother and it was just magical. Heather mentioned that her husband, Ben and her had just celebrated their 16th wedding anniversary so of course I had to get some images of these love birds together to celebrate that big milestone. When it seemed so incredibly perfect, the mosquitos came in full force and we had to cut our Eden party just a little short. We packed up and headed over to Grayton Beach State Park and played as the light dropped below the gulf water. Stay tuned for those beauties!

I used pretty much all of my equipment for both locations. Keep an eye out for my “what’s in her bag” post soon! I also wanted to mention that Nichole Burnett Photography is on Instagram! I post a ton of sneak peeks that you can’t see on Facebook and I post a bunch of personal work that I have yet to share anywhere else. 2. Why I Love being a Children’s Photographer in Santa Rosa Beach

This lovely children’s session took place at the Emerald Coast’s beautiful Eden State Gardens.  This beautiful little girl is Ava.  Last year we had her 2 year old session at the beach and it was absolutely gorgeous.  You can see that session here.  It is crazy how quickly they grow!  Ava’s momma, Anna, wanted this session to be organic with an enchanted forest feel to change things up from the last children’s session that we did.  I think Eden was the perfect place to achieve that look as the trees are so big you can’t help but to look at such a tiny little girl next to the giant landscape without thinking of fairies and all things make believe.  The light was just perfect too.  (Part of why I Love being a Children’s Photographer in Santa Rosa Beach and Destin areas)  I love the images with the light shining on just Ava as if she was the only thing that mattered in this enchanted forest.  The whole session was truly magical.  I can’t wait to continue to watch this little one grow.  These enchanted sessions really are some of my favorite sessions to do.

*All of these images were edited with my Make Believe Actions.  If you are a photographer make sure to check those out!  I hope to be releasing a new set here in the next few months.  :)

Award Winning Photographer Santa Rosa Beach~

I am so excited to share the news with you all!  Last year I was surprised to see that an image I had entered in the National Association of Professional Child Photographers received the Recognition of Merit Award!  I remember seeing information on the image competition, but I hadn’t really planned on entering.  Then I got an email that informed me that it was the last day to enter, so I thought to myself, “Why not?”  You can imagine my shock when the winners were announced.  I hadn’t received an email about any award so I naturally assumed I hadn’t won.  As I was scrolling through the winners images I saw this image and almost DIED!  Okay I’m being dramatic.  I didn’t almost die, but I was so incredibly surprised.  It was awesome! :)  I realized that I had never shared this exciting news on my blog so I wanted to go ahead and fix that while I have some time.  :)  You can see the other images from this session here.
