Day one | Sleeping Mommy
Every morning, I wake up usually still very tired from my lack of a good nights sleep. You see with three kids 5 and under, night is prime time for mommy cuddles. At least this is what I gather from my typical night. If it’s not one child it’s another. However, one thing is certain., rarely do they ever all sleep through the night without making an appearance in my bed. It’s not that they can’t sleep without me, they just don’t want to. Once, Caleb even woke me up at 3 am to ask me where his newest toy was. Why did he need to ask? Why was he up? I tell you why. He just wanted an excuse to cuddle. Some nights I don’t even hear my kids climbing in bed with me. I just wake up and they are there, and I am clinging on to the side of my bed for dear life. Caleb goes through phases. Now that he is 5 he really only wakes me when he has a bad dream. Halle, is the sneakiest one. I usually don’t hear her come in. Lyla, on the other hand, is like glue. She sleeps on my head, with her leg over my back. She climbs in my bed and gives me a full body hug and refuses to let go. Like I said… glue.
Today is the start of a 30 day photography project that I am doing with two of my photographer friends Amy and Laura. If you would like to see the details of it all you can look here. Today’s project was to take a Self Portrait. I wanted to do something that reflected my life a bit. So what better than take a pic of myself doing what I don’t get to do enough of. Sleep. Take a look below.
Okay so I wasn’t really sleeping, but Lyla did not know this bit of information. As soon as I started taking the shots I heard her tip toe into my room. I pretended to be asleep and well… you can see for yourself.
If you would like to participate in this 30 day project leave me a comment below with a link to your post! I’d love to see what you all come up with! :) xo
